DC-3 'Eastern Airlines' 8" (1/144) (5559)


The DC-3 was a fixed propeller-driven aircraft that revolutionized air transport in the 1930�s and 1940�s, and is generally thought to be the most significant transport aircraft ever made. United, American, TWA and Eastern Airlines were all significant buyers of this plane. TWA airlines had a specific request that this plane have three engines, but Douglas managed to convince TWA�s technical advisor, Charles Lindberg, that two would do the job. The DC-3 had a max speed of 346 km/h and a range of 1300 miles.
