McDonnell Douglas F-4C Phantom II 154th TFG 199th TFS, Hawaii ANG "Aloha Alert" Hobby Master 1/72 Air Power Series HA1972 F-4C 63-7647 was delivered to the 8th TFW in 1964 and deployed in August 1965 to Korat, RTAB. During the Vietnam War the aircraft served with several squadrons. On June 5, 1967 while with the 555th TFS Major R.M. Pascoe and Captain N.E. Wells scored the war’s last MiG kill. After several more moves the aircraft transferred to the Hawaii ANG 199th TFS/154th TFG in 1978 where it remained until 1987 then going to the Oregon ANG 114th TFTS/142nd FIG. In 1989 the aircraft retired to the Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum, McMinnville, Oregon. The F-4D was an improved “C” variant with most improvements being internal electronics and avionics. The F-4D entered operational service in April 1966 and joined the combat forces in Southeast Asia in May 1967. With the arrival of the “D” most of the “C” variant was reassigned to ground attack with the “D”s taking on the air-to-air interceptor role.
